SIU Litigation Attorney (2+ Years Experience)

About the role

Marshall Dennehey, an Am Law 200 civil defense law firm, is seeking an SIU Litigation Attorney for its New York offices with at least two years of experience. The ideal candidate is passionate about fighting fraud against the insurance industry. The position can be based out of the New York, Purchase or Melville office.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with SIU departments to defend against fraudulent claims submitted against clients.
• Research, prepare, file and litigate fraud actions, including RICO and other affirmative actions.
• Prepare litigation strategies and negotiate complex matters.
• Review file assignments and strategize for resolution.
• Propound discovery and draft motions, memoranda and briefs.
• Prepare for and conduct depositions and examinations under oath.
• Attend arbitrations, mediations and trials, including expert witnesses.
• Handle court appearances in state and federal court and draft pre- and post-trial motions.
• Negotiate settlements and draft related documents.

Required profile

• At least two years of experience.
• A steady and consistent work history preferred.
• Strong litigation and investigative skills.
• Strong legal writing skills.
