Site Superintendent – Anchorage, AK

About the role

The Site Superintendent oversees all construction activities at the Anchorage site, ensuring quality, schedule adherence, and compliance with contract specifications and federal requirements. This full‑time position requires on‑site presence throughout the construction phase.

Key responsibilities

• Organize, plan, monitor, and inspect work to maintain the project schedule.
• Prepare schedules, pay estimates, and 3‑week look‑ahead plans.
• Coordinate material and equipment deliveries to the site.
• Define subcontract scopes, manage subcontractor performance, and ensure alignment with the government‑approved schedule.
• Inspect trades’ work for quality and compliance with plans and specifications.
• Conduct hazardous waste determinations and serve as Waste Manager.
• Lead weekly progress meetings and quality control inspections.
• Read and interpret drawings, plans, and specifications.
• Approve corrective actions and exercise stop‑work authority for safety or quality issues.

Required profile

• High school diploma with at least ten years recent experience as a Superintendent or lead role on large, multi‑trade renovation projects.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, self‑starter attitude, and ability to work independently.
• Ability to obtain and maintain general clearance for military installations and a valid REAL ID‑compliant driver’s license.
• Must be local to Anchorage/Mat‑Su Borough or willing to relocate.

Required skills

• OSHA 30 certification (or ability to obtain).
• CPR/First Aid certification.
• Knowledge of USACE EM 385‑1‑1.
• Proficiency with Adobe Pro (PDF), Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
