Site Cost Accountant

About the role

The Site Cost Accountant is a core member of the finance team supporting an activated carbon manufacturing plant. You will partner with plant leadership, corporate finance, and supply chain to drive cost transparency, financial discipline, and performance improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead financial oversight of manufacturing operations, including COGS, inventory valuation, production variances and capital spending.
• Partner with the Plant Controller to ensure timely plant‑level reporting, standard costing and financial controls.
• Analyze performance and provide insight into cost drivers, efficiency and margin improvement.
• Develop and monitor operational KPIs to improve forecasting and control.
• Prepare monthly financial packages and support FP&A with budgeting, forecasting and long‑range planning.
• Evaluate and refine standard cost models, BOMs and routings with engineering and operations.
• Oversee physical inventory counts and cycle‑count programs.
• Ensure SOX‑compliant internal controls.
• Support capital investment analysis, ROI modeling and project tracking.
• Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on cost optimization and financial risk.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience, including plant or operations finance.
• Manufacturing experience, preferably in chemicals, industrials or process industries.
