Site Civil Coordinator / Engineer in Training (EIT)

About the role

HDR is seeking a motivated Site Civil Coordinator/EIT to support its Building Engineering Services Group. You will contribute to the design of facility‑related sites across a variety of markets, delivering high‑quality, technically sound civil engineering solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with design and plan production for site development projects, including layouts, grading, drainage, stormwater management, erosion & sediment control, and site utilities.
• Develop concept site layouts that meet all jurisdictional requirements.
• Prepare civil engineering calculations such as stormwater pond sizing, culvert and pipe capacity analysis, and hydrology studies.
• Coordinate with jurisdictional authorities to determine design and submittal requirements.
• Perform administrative tasks for specifications, contract documents, and permit submittals.
• Attend client meetings and collaborate with sub‑consultants.
• Mentor junior staff, delegate tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Required profile

• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain it within 12 months.
• Self‑motivated, collaborative, and strong communicator.
• Ability to work independently and pursue information and solutions.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth in site civil design.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D.
• Experience using HydroCAD.
• Familiarity with Autodesk Hydraflow Extensions.
• Competence in Microsoft Office applications.
