Shift Supervisor - Aniline

About the role

BASF is hiring a Shift Supervisor for its Aniline team in Geismar, Louisiana. The role supervises the work of the Shift Operations Team so that Cluster 5 of the Aniline Plant operates safely.

Key responsibilities

• Lead operators to ensure consistency and accountability across all shifts, including conflict management
• Ensure compliance with all EHS requirements and promote a safe work environment
• Execute daily operating plans with the Production Supervisors
• Direct equipment and process adjustments based on previous shift activity, operator and supervisor logs, physical surveys and lab results, and record production and operational data
• Lead the Daily Operations Team in emergencies and other plant activities until relieved
• Instruct and train new operators, keep the shift updated on Management of Change issues, SOP revisions and regulatory training, and coach the team
• Troubleshoot operational and safety issues and escalate unresolved ones
• Align daily with maintenance on priorities, schedule and equipment preparation
• Work with production engineers, the technology team and support groups on operational improvements
• Monitor KPIs, plant yields, product quality and other performance indicators
• Enforce safety rules and comply with the union collective bargaining agreement

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalency
• 5+ years of operational and/or maintenance experience
• Preferred: 2+ years of supervisory experience
• Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
