Shift Mechanic – Industrial Maintenance

About the role

The Shift Mechanic is responsible for performing both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on industrial equipment to ensure safe and productive operations. This role involves troubleshooting mechanical issues on conveyor systems and diesel equipment, performing repairs, and supporting the maintenance team across all shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect equipment for condition, operation, parts, and fluid levels.
• Check, fill, and replace fluids and parts as needed.
• Perform adjustments during preventive maintenance service.
• Identify mechanical problems and complete necessary repairs.
• Maintain accurate paperwork and records of maintenance activities.
• Comply with federal, OSHA, and company policies.
• Respond to call‑outs and work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1–3 years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience.
• Welding knowledge and ability to cut and weld.
• Ability to possess a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credential) card.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb, climb ladders, and work at heights up to 75 ft.
• Willingness to work in all weather conditions and around water.
