Settlement Analyst

About the role

ACCIONA Energía is seeking a Settlement Analyst to join its Power Marketing team in the United States. The analyst will play a critical role in managing commercial operations linked to power purchase agreements (PPAs), market settlements, and compliance across North American energy markets.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and administer PPAs, ensuring contractual compliance and performance.
• Validate and reconcile market settlement transactions with system operators and support resettlement calculations.
• Process payments to and from RTOs/counterparties, escalating and documenting settlement disputes.
• Prepare and submit monthly settlement reports and supporting data to the accounting team.
• Analyze regulations and market rules affecting energy, renewable, and capacity markets.
• Oversee credit and collateral requirements for PPAs and ISDA agreements, coordinating with Finance and Credit teams.
• Support QSE and ISO operational coordination, market registrations, and setup with external providers.
• Produce internal and external reports on transaction status, renewable attributes inventory, and tax‑equity partner reporting.
• Assist with audit support, compliance documentation, annual disclosures, and certifications.
• Monitor and interpret new developments in the Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) and support market transitions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or certificate in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience.
• Knowledge of electricity markets and related regulatory frameworks.
