Service Technician – The Oliver DC Student Living

About the role

The Service Technician ensures the physical aspects of The Oliver DC property—including buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas—meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, safety, appearance, and functionality.

Key responsibilities

• Complete resident service requests and preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues and performing repairs according to policies, safety standards, and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant units, including inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, and final quality checks.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and tools, track usage, and notify supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Assist with grounds and common‑area upkeep such as trash removal, pressure‑washing, general cleaning, and painting.
• Inspect contractor work, conduct routine property inspections, and report safety or risk concerns.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 2 years of property‑management or building‑maintenance experience.
• Proactive, self‑motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license (required for operating a golf cart where applicable).

Required skills

• HVAC knowledge and relevant certifications.
• EPA refrigerant recycling certifications Type I, Type II, and Universal.
• Ability to use internet, word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs for reporting.
