Service Technician – The Commons at Boston Post Road

About the role

The Service Technician ensures that the physical aspects of The Commons at Boston Post Road—including buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas—meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, safety, appearance, and functionality. This onsite position supports residents through timely maintenance and prepares vacant units for new occupants.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders from resident requests and perform preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues and repairing according to policies, safety standards, and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant apartments: inspect pre‑move‑out condition, create punch lists, schedule vendors, procure supplies, complete repairs, and verify finished work.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment, track usage, return unused items, and notify the supervisor of re‑order needs.
• Document service requests accurately and promptly to ensure proper tracking.
• Maintain grounds and common areas by picking up debris, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, general cleaning, and painting curbs or signage as required.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts when feasible and using materials efficiently.
• Adhere to Greystar’s safety and risk‑management policies, participating in routine safety activities.

Required profile

• Ability to perform hands‑on technical and mechanical work in a residential property environment.
• Strong attention to detail for inspections, documentation, and inventory management.
