Service Technician – Centennial Hall (Student Living)

About the role

Greystar is seeking a Service Technician to maintain the Centennial Hall student‑living community in Syracuse. The role ensures that apartments, common areas, and grounds meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, safety, and functionality. You will work directly with residents, vendors, and the maintenance team to keep the property operating smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to resident service requests and complete work orders, diagnosing issues and performing repairs in line with safety codes and company policies.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant units, including pre‑move‑out inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, and final inspections.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment, tracking usage and notifying supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Document all service activities accurately and timely to ensure proper tracking.
• Maintain grounds and common areas by removing trash, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, and performing general cleaning and painting as required.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts whenever possible.
• Participate in safety meetings and complete required OSHA training to uphold Greystar’s risk‑management policies.

Required profile

• Ability to read and follow work orders, safety procedures, and building codes.
• Strong organizational skills for inventory tracking and documentation.
