Service Technician - Apartment Maintenance

About the role

Greystar, a global real estate platform focused on institutional-quality rental housing, is hiring a Service Technician for its Bent Tree Brook property. The role covers the technical and mechanical upkeep of the buildings, grounds, amenities and common areas so they meet standards for cleanliness, appearance, safety and functionality.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders from resident requests and preventative maintenance by diagnosing problems and repairing them according to policy, safety standards and code requirements.
• Run the make-ready process for vacant apartments: pre-move-out inspection, punch list, vendor and contractor scheduling, supplies and final inspection.
• Track inventory, return unused items and notify the maintenance supervisor of re-order needs.
• Complete service documentation accurately and on time.
• Help maintain grounds and amenities: pick up trash, pressure-wash breezeways and pool areas, clean and paint curbs and signage as needed.
• Support cost control by fixing rather than replacing parts and using materials efficiently.
• Attend safety meetings, complete OSHA and other safety training, and report accidents promptly.
• Periodically check contractor and vendor work, and help with property inspections to flag safety and repair concerns.

Required profile

• EPA certification Type I and II or Universal for refrigerant recycling (Certified Service Technicians).
• All certifications required by state and local jurisdictions.
• Valid driver's license to operate a golf cart on property where applicable.
• Able to stand, walk, sit, bend, climb ladders, reach, carry and crawl in confined spaces, and work indoors and outdoors in all weather.
• Able to lift up to 25 pounds alone and 50 pounds with assistance; occasional travel to other properties or training may be required.
• Flexible schedule including call duty on evenings, weekends and holidays.
