Sergeant – Federal Reserve Law Enforcement

About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco is seeking a Sergeant to lead its Law Enforcement Unit. Reporting to a Lieutenant, the Sergeant will oversee daily security operations across five bank locations, ensuring the safety of personnel, assets, and facilities while serving as a trusted liaison with the community.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise police officers and manage shift schedules to maintain optimal security coverage.
• Direct resources during incidents, applying sound judgment and appropriate force protocols.
• Monitor and operate security and life‑safety systems, including access control, alarms, screening equipment, and video surveillance.
• Conduct patrols, access control, screening, and special assignments as needed.
• Prepare thorough incident reports and maintain accurate documentation.
• Foster an inclusive team environment through coaching and performance feedback.

• Proven experience in law enforcement or security leadership.
• Ability to make quick, sound decisions under pressure.
• Strong communication skills for liaison between management and operational staff.
