Sensor Validation Engineer – Autonomous Systems

About the role

As a Sensor Validation Engineer you will lead validation and characterization of lidar, radar, camera and ultrasonic sensors for Applied Intuition’s Sensor Simulation and Self‑Driving System products. You will work across automotive, trucking, construction and mining domains to ensure high‑fidelity synthetic simulations match real‑world sensor performance.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute validation protocols for lidar, radar, camera and ultrasonic sensors in diverse operating environments.
• Develop and refine machine‑learning and physical models to improve the accuracy of synthetic sensor simulations.
• Perform physical sensor performance testing and compare hardware data against simulated models.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to bridge gaps between physical data and synthetic model development.
• Analyze large‑scale sensor datasets using Python and generate performance metrics.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Robotics Engineering or a related field (or foreign equivalent).
• Minimum three years of experience in sensor validation, characterization or related automotive/autonomous systems work.
• Proficiency in Python for data analysis and automation of test suites.
• Strong command‑line experience in Linux/Unix environments.
