Senior/Staff Platform Engineer

About the role

Radar is looking for senior‑level platform engineers to build, operate, and secure its massive location infrastructure. You will work on the application layer while bridging to infrastructure through automation, supporting a platform that handles over 1 billion API calls per day.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain core platform services using TypeScript, Rust, Python and Scala.
• Collaborate with product, SRE, and data teams to deliver highly available systems with 99.99%+ monthly uptime.
• Build self‑serve capabilities such as IAM, feature flags, rate limiting, and deployment pipelines.
• Drive automation, observability, test coverage, and security compliance across the stack.
• Engage with customers and prospects to incorporate feedback into platform improvements.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of system design, coding practices, and infrastructure technologies.
• Experience at a high‑growth startup and a generalist engineering mindset.
• Willingness to interact with customers and contribute to product success.

Required skills

• TypeScript, Node.js, Rust, Python, Scala
• Kubernetes on AWS EKS, Terraform
• MongoDB, Redis, Airflow, CircleCI
• Monitoring tools: CloudWatch, Grafana, Pingdom, PagerDuty
• Familiarity with AI coding assistants (Claude, Codex) is a plus
