Senior/Lead AI Engineer – Data Science Institute

About the role

The Texas A&M Institute of Data Science (TAMIDS) seeks a Senior/Lead AI Engineer to develop, implement, and support AI‑enabled software solutions that advance research and analytical activities across the institute and its affiliated programs.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build low‑to‑moderately complex AI‑enabled applications for research projects.
• Deploy AI techniques, tools, and methodologies to support faculty, researchers, and project teams.
• Integrate AI capabilities into end‑to‑end research workflows.
• Provide consultancy and technical support to help researchers design and implement AI‑based solutions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to advance AI research initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• For the Senior level: minimum 2 years of experience developing data‑driven, AI‑enabled applications.
• For the Lead level: minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to work on‑site in College Station and travel up to 10% as needed.
• Willingness to work beyond normal office hours or weekends when required.
