Senior Windows/Linux System Administrator (Top Secret Clearance)

About the role

Senior System Administrators in Plano, Texas will support classified programs for a leading aerospace and defense contractor. The role involves managing both Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments while ensuring compliance with DoD security requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Administer Windows Server services including DNS, DHCP, Active Directory and server replication.
• Maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers, applying patches and configuring services.
• Troubleshoot complex hardware and operating system issues across a 24 × 7 environment.
• Implement and manage RAID configurations and backup solutions.
• Install and configure user‑requested software applications.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to enforce security controls and produce documentation.
• Obtain DoDD 8140/8570 certification (CompTIA Security+ or equivalent) within six months of hire.
• Provide after‑hours support as needed and travel up to 5 %.

Required profile

• Active Top Secret DoD clearance and U.S. citizenship.
• Proven experience with Windows Server internals and Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration.
• Strong knowledge of DNS, DHCP, AD, RAID, and backup technologies.
• Ability to work onsite full‑time in a fast‑paced environment.
• Willingness to obtain Security+ certification within the first six months.
