Senior Web Developer - AEC Integration

About the role

AEC firms and infrastructure operators want seamless integration between GIS data and BIM models to improve design, construction and operation of assets. Esri works with Autodesk and others to help customers design, build and operate sustainable infrastructure faster and cheaper. This role designs and implements that integration, working with the product owner, product engineers and software engineering peers on a multi-disciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate the ArcGIS geospatial cloud with cloud-based BIM systems such as Autodesk Docs, Autodesk Platform Services, Autodesk Forma and other information systems
• Build public and internal RESTful APIs connecting these platforms
• Create TypeScript components and widgets compatible with ArcGIS Experience Builder
• Develop geoprocessing tools that automate linking and data migration of BIM data to ArcGIS
• Communicate with industry developers on best practices for extending ArcGIS to the AEC and BIM industries
• Design real-time and batch data pipelines to synchronize versioned BIM data with GIS
• Build complex micro-service pipelines for large BIM datasets

Required profile

• 5+ years of software product development experience
• Demonstrated experience building cloud infrastructure, backend services and data pipelines
• Exceptional understanding of at least two of: TypeScript, JavaScript, NodeJS, Bootstrap, React, Angular, or other responsive web frameworks, or extensive experience with C++.NET and/or Python
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or a related field

Required skills

• Agile software engineering processes and proficiency with git
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
• Preferred: 2D and 3D computational geometry, scalable full-stack engineering, AWS or Azure, unit and integration testing, awareness of Autodesk Platform Services, ObjectArx or Revit APIs, ArcGIS web app development
