Senior Vice President, Head of Mortgage Default Servicing

About the role

The Senior Vice President, Head of Mortgage Default Servicing leads the end‑to‑end lifecycle of collections, loss mitigation, foreclosure, bankruptcy and REO activities. This executive provides strategic direction, ensures compliance, and drives cost‑effective operations to protect the organization’s financial exposure.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all default mortgage servicing functions and ensure adherence to service level agreements.
• Develop, maintain, and enforce policies, procedures and compliance standards for GSE, government and investor loans.
• Manage audits, quality‑assurance programs and monthly performance reporting.
• Lead call‑center operations, outbound communications and vendor relationships supporting default processes.
• Participate in senior leadership to manage relationships with clients, investors, regulators and rating agencies.
• Design and implement automation, system upgrades and process improvements to boost efficiency.
• Maintain appropriate staffing levels across multiple sites and offshore locations.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of mortgage servicing experience, including senior leadership roles.
• Proven ability to manage multi‑site operations with 200+ full‑time employees.
• Full P&L responsibility experience.
• Extensive knowledge of Black Knight MSP and servicing standards for FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA and USDA loans.
• Experience overseeing offshore business processes and large call‑center environments.
