Senior UA Manager – Financial Institutions & Public D&O

About the role

Zurich North America is seeking an experienced Senior UA Manager to lead training and development for Underwriting Associates supporting Financial Institutions and Public D&O teams. The role is based in Chicago or New York with a hybrid work schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure teams meet operational performance goals and assess underwriting processes for improvements.
• Provide customer service, account management, and support producers on new business and renewals.
• Conduct performance evaluations, career development conversations, and staffing decisions.
• Onboard and train new Underwriting Assistants and Underwriters, and act as subject‑matter expert for continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of insurance/underwriting experience, or equivalent education and 8+ years.
• Knowledge of insurance industry, legal and regulatory environment.
• Experience in data analysis, metrics‑driven environments, and operational budgeting.
• People management experience.
