Executive Director

About the role

The Executive Director leads DANK Haus German American Cultural Center through its next phase of growth, setting strategic direction, expanding revenue, and overseeing operations, finance, and human resources.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as primary public spokesperson, building relationships with the German‑American community and broader audiences.
• Develop and execute strategies to grow and diversify revenue across facility rentals, language school, events, and philanthropy.
• Lead fundraising efforts, cultivating major gifts, grants, sponsorships, and corporate partnerships.
• Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and resource allocation in partnership with the Board.
• Set HR strategy, approve staffing plans, and foster an inclusive organizational culture.
• Partner with the Board on strategic priorities, provide regular updates, and support board development.
• Ensure compliance, set strategic vision for language school and cultural programming, and manage overall performance.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years senior nonprofit leadership or executive director experience with proven revenue growth and fundraising.
• Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business, finance, or related field; master’s degree or fundraising certification preferred.
• Bilingual English/German preferred and legally authorized to work in the U.S.

What we offer

• Salary $90,000 – $125,000, commensurate with experience.
