Senior Technical Editor (Defense Intelligence)

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Senior Technical Editor to support the Defense Intelligence Agency's Defense Intelligence Enterprise. The editor acts as the final line of quality for intelligence products, sharpening logic and clarity, enforcing agency style and classification standards, and mentoring the team. The position is contingent on contract award, business needs, security clearance verification and funding availability.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as senior editorial authority for the supported production element, setting the quality bar for the whole editing team
• Handle the highest-visibility and most sensitive products, where classification precision and narrative clarity matter most
• Mentor mid-level editors and build style resources, checklists and training
• Advise analytic leadership on production standards and recurring quality issues
• Negotiate revisions with senior authors while preserving analytic voice and meeting tradecraft standards

Required profile

• Active TS/SCI security clearance
• 12+ years of relevant editing experience, with recent experience within the last 2 years
• Demonstrated leadership of editorial teams or functions
• Master's degree desired in a related field
• Preferred: DIA or Defense Intelligence Enterprise experience, program transition support experience, and experience establishing editorial standards or style guides

Required skills

• Deep familiarity with Intelligence Community publication standards and finished intelligence formats
