Senior Tax Analyst – Indirect Tax

About the role

Ulta Beauty is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to lead its indirect tax function. You will work across finance, IT, and business teams to ensure accurate tax compliance, drive process improvements, and support audit defense.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and file monthly, quarterly and annual indirect tax returns.
• Maintain and update tax software systems such as Vertex O-Series, Alteryx, and CCH SureTax.
• Develop budgets and forecasts for indirect tax liabilities.
• Perform account reconciliations, journal entries, and ASC 450 reserve analysis.
• Lead special projects, including refund reviews, process‑improvement initiatives, and tax automation implementations.
• Conduct tax research, determine product taxability, and code products for tax purposes.
• Assist with tax audits, preparing responses, appeals and related documentation.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in indirect (sales, use, excise, gross receipts) tax compliance.
• Strong analytical mindset with a passion for data‑driven process improvement.
• Ability to collaborate with finance, IT and business partners across the organization.
• Experience preparing budgets, forecasts and tax reserves.
