Senior Tax Accountant (CPA Preferred)

About the role

DWD CPAs & Advisors, a regional CPA firm with offices in Fort Wayne and Marion, Indiana, is hiring a Senior Tax Accountant for its Marion office. The role works directly with clients and colleagues to provide tax planning and compliance services across many industries. It suits an experienced CPA, someone actively pursuing their CPA license, or an Enrolled Agent with public accounting experience, and offers a clear path toward a leadership position.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, nonprofits and payroll tax filings
• Build client relationships through proactive communication and strong service
• Help clients with tax planning and answer tax questions
• Research tax issues and apply current tax law to client situations
• Work with partners and team members to deliver quality client service
• Manage multiple projects to meet deadlines accurately and maintain client confidentiality

Required profile

• CPA license (or active pursuit of CPA certification) or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation
• Public accounting tax experience preferred
• Experience preparing returns for pass-through entities, partnerships, corporations and individual taxpayers
• Strong analytical, organizational, project management and communication skills

Required skills

• Working knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online
• Preferred: experience with UltraTax, CS Fixed Assets and tax research software
