Senior Systems Engineer - Aerospace

About the role

Oliver Wyman Vector, a management consulting firm within Marsh McLennan, is hiring a Senior Systems Engineer for its aerospace practice in Seattle, Washington. The role is full-time and hybrid, with staff split between remote and in-office work.

Key responsibilities

• Define and decompose systems software requirements for airplane network systems, including validation and verification, development assurance, safety analysis and systems integration.
• Work with software developers and test engineers to define and validate highly reliable system functionality.
• Plan, execute and troubleshoot complex software systems integration to validate interface definitions and system requirements of airplane network systems.
• Perform risk management and trade study analyses.
• Troubleshoot system design and implementation issues and compare actual results to the baseline plan to assess project performance, efficiencies, productivity and lessons learned.
• Work with stakeholders to understand, troubleshoot and identify fixes for flight test and in-service issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree and 9+ years, or an advanced degree with 7+ years, of related work experience.
• An accredited degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry; ABET accreditation preferred.
• Experience with airplane software development and certification (RTCA DO-178C).
• Experience with airplane networks and communication systems.

Required skills

• DOORS or a similar requirements development and management tool.
• Preferred: ARP4754A, Jira, flight deck operations and EFBs, test procedures and lab testing, basic knowledge of network protocols and routing tables.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

What we offer

• Base salary range of $160,000 - $200,000, depending on experience, skills, training, location, certifications and education.
• Eligibility for performance-based incentives.
• Hybrid work with at least three days per week in the local office or onsite with clients.
