Aerospace Software Developer

About the role

Oliver Wyman Vector is looking for an experienced Software Developer to support the development of software for complex aerospace systems. The role works closely with systems engineers, test engineers and other software developers to design and implement software solutions from defined software-level requirements, across the software development lifecycle in a DO-178C-driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement software from defined software-level requirements
• Contribute throughout the software development lifecycle: design, implementation, integration, troubleshooting and verification
• Work with systems engineering and test teams during development, integration and verification

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software development experience (5-10 years preferred)
• Ability to develop software from requirements through design and implementation, in complex systems
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in an environment with evolving requirements and technical ambiguity
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Full-time hybrid role, based in the Greater Seattle area, with at least three days per week in the office
• Legal authorization to work in the United States; employer sponsorship is not available

Required skills

• Java and/or Python
• Familiarity with RTCA DO-178C software certification and its associated processes and documentation
• Preferred: experience with aerospace, avionics or safety-critical systems, airplane software certification, requirements-driven development and traceability, and tools such as Git and Jira

The applicable base salary range is $110,000 - $160,000.
