Senior Supervisor - 2nd Shift

About the role

ABB is hiring a Senior Supervisor for the 2nd shift at its Byhalia Distribution Center (ELIP US LATAM). The supervisor leads safe, efficient and customer-focused operations for an assigned shift or functional area, coordinating daily workflow, directing frontline leaders and hourly associates, and managing labor and operating priorities so that products are received, stored, picked, packed and shipped accurately and on time. The role is onsite.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily operations for inbound, outbound, inventory control, replenishment, picking, packing, shipping or value-added service activities.
• Direct and coach supervisors, team leads and associates, set clear expectations and give timely feedback.
• Monitor safety, service, productivity, quality, cost, inventory and attendance metrics and take corrective action when performance is off plan.
• Run shift start-up meetings, operational reviews and handoffs covering safety priorities, workload, staffing, risks and required actions.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs, quality requirements, security controls and applicable federal, state and local regulations.
• Promote a strong safety culture through hazard observations, incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives that simplify work, reduce waste, improve throughput and control overtime.
• Support system, equipment, process, layout and network changes and develop bench strength through cross-training and succession planning.
• Serve as the senior operational leader on the shift when designated and prepare performance updates and improvement recommendations for site leadership.

Required profile

• Eight or more years of progressive experience in distribution, fulfillment, logistics, warehousing, manufacturing or a related operations environment.
• Three or more years leading employees in a high-volume operation, including staffing, performance, safety and results.
• Ability to work the second shift (4:00 PM - 12:30 AM or 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM).
• Demonstrated ability to lead through frontline supervisors or team leads and coordinate work across multiple functions.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of warehouse management systems, labor or productivity reporting, inventory controls and standard office applications.
• Preferred: experience in a multi-shift, high-volume, automated or regulated environment; Lean, Six Sigma or continuous improvement knowledge; WMS experience; preferred exposure to Blue Yonder or Manhattan.
