Shipping Team Lead - 2nd Shift

About the role

ABB is hiring a Shipping Team Lead for the 2nd shift in Byhalia. The role reports to the Warehouse/Internal Logistics Supervisor and focuses on leading distribution associates through daily activities with strong emphasis on safety, quality, productivity and housekeeping. The work model is onsite.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, communicate and direct distribution associates through daily activities, prioritizing safety, quality, productivity and housekeeping to meet daily goals.
• Perform process audits to ensure compliance with documented procedures.
• Take part hands-on in directing the flow of daily activities and moving associates promptly for maximum efficiency.
• Capture daily performance data to identify ways to improve performance.
• Monitor systems and communicate with internal and external customers so work is completed on time.
• Attend and help with pre-shift meetings covering safety, quality, daily plans and staffing needs.
• Give feedback to the supervisor on associates' performance, behaviour and attendance.
• Follow all safety guidelines and wear the required PPE.
• Help manage staff movements for vacations, illness, machine outages or shifting priorities, and reinforce focus on volume, efficiency and on-time delivery.
• Assist in allocating, coordinating and overseeing shift orders and work plan execution on production lines.
• Act as shift leader, resolving technical, quality and logistics issues.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years in a fast-paced distribution environment with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior leadership experience and WMS knowledge preferred.
• Able to lift up to 40 lbs, work at heights and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
• Strong leadership, organizational and communication skills, able to manage multiple priorities.
• Flexible to work different shifts or overtime with minimal notice, with attention to detail and confidentiality.
