Senior Specialist, Vaccines Technology

About the role

The Senior Specialist, Vaccines Technology Operations provides technical leadership for primary filling, inspection and packaging at our vaccine manufacturing site in Wilson, NC. This individual contributor role supports commercial ramp‑up and ongoing routine operations, acting as the subject‑matter expert for validation and technical support.

Key responsibilities

• Build robust processes to ensure consistent, reliable vaccine supply and resolve technical issues that impact production.
• Own Manufacturing Execution System batch records, manage change requests in Veeva Vault, and support regulatory inspections as the technical expert.
• Lead validation activities, generate and document data for internal and external audits, and author deviation reports with root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Partner with Operations, Quality, Automation, Plant Engineering and other functions to execute continuous‑improvement projects, capital projects and standard‑work initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering (Engineering preferred) with at least 5 years of industry experience.
• At least 2 years providing validation or technical process support to pharmaceutical unit operations.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, influence cross‑functional teams and support a multi‑shift, on‑site environment.
• Working knowledge of cGMPs, FDA regulations and experience supporting regulatory inspections.

Required skills

• Validation and equipment qualification expertise.
• Technical writing for investigations, SOPs, batch records and change requests.
• Aseptic filling, CIP/SIP systems, single‑use components.
• Experience with SAP/MES, Veeva Vault and Change Execution Management tools.
• Data analysis using advanced Excel, Minitab or JMP.
• Lean Manufacturing, continuous‑improvement and problem‑solving methodologies.
