Senior Software Engineer TS/SCI Polygraph - Hanover

About the role

Leidos' National Security Sector (NSS) Cyber & Analytics Business Area (CABA) is hiring a Senior Software Engineer in Hanover. The engineer supports the design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance of a Data Dictionary capability that provides metadata specification, storage and access services. The system uses a Java/Spring backend, RESTful APIs and a web-based user interface, and the engineer works independently while contributing to architecture and supporting full-lifecycle delivery in an Agile environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and enhance Java/Spring applications, including a web UI for metadata specifications, a database solution for storing specifications and RESTful services for programmatic access.
• Design and implement backend services and APIs, and contribute to system architecture and engineering best practices.
• Maintain database schemas, queries and integrations.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, deployments and operational readiness.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders and system integrators.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.

Required profile

• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph up front (no sponsorship available).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field, or 12 years of combined experience (4 years of software engineering can substitute for the degree).
• Minimum of 8 years of software engineering experience, including 3 years in SIGINT, IA or IT domains.
• Minimum of 3 years with modern Java and Spring/Spring Boot, and 3 years building RESTful APIs and JSON-based web services.

Required skills

• Strong SQL and relational database experience, including PostgreSQL or equivalent.
• Experience in Linux development environments.
• Desired: Java/J2EE, Spring Framework and Spring Boot, PostgreSQL and SQL database design, UI design and testing, REST/XML/JSON web services, Docker and Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, JIRA or Redmine.
