Senior Software Engineer (Java, Python, C++)

About the role

Leidos is hiring Software Engineers (junior, mid-level and senior) in its INTEL SECTOR Cyber & Analytics Business Area, which works on security engineering, computer network operations, mission software, analytical methods and modeling, signals intelligence and cryptographic key management. The Software Engineer performs SDLC activities within an Agile team building a large complex enterprise system, turning user stories into implementable concepts through development, unit testing, integration and test, and deployment. The role covers server-side business logic, client web applications and user interfaces.

Key responsibilities

• Take part in daily stand-ups, Sprint Planning, PI Planning and other team activities.
• Analyze complex system requirements, use design tools and formal specifications, and write code that is modifiable, efficient, reliable, fault tolerant and reusable.
• Manage the software process during coding, promote code reuse and collaboration between developers and testers, and reduce maintenance costs.
• Engineer, author, tune and document automation scripts in the development environment and deploy them to test and production.

Required profile

• Masters degree and 15 years of prior relevant experience (additional experience may substitute for a degree).
• Clearance: TS/SCI with polygraph required; preferred.
• Ability to plan and prioritize tasks, communicate effectively and work independently and in a fast-moving team.

Required skills

• Demonstrated Java experience and familiarity with multiple Java frameworks (Spring Boot, JEE, Jackson, Jersey, Swing, JavaFX).
• Multiple languages such as JavaScript, Python, C/C++, Groovy and SQL.
• IDEs such as Eclipse, Visual Studio Code, Visual Studio, Rhapsody, WebStorm.
• Databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB and SQL Server.
• Web UI development (Angular, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, JSON, XML, XSLT) and web services.
• Source control and configuration management tools.
• Windows development; Linux experience is a preferred qualification.
