About the role

As a Senior Software Engineer at Check, you’ll use your technical knowledge and product sense to build features that make a real impact, contributing to the platform that powers money movement, tax calculations, and compliance workflows for thousands of businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end problem‑solving from conception to implementation, partnering across teams to deliver innovative solutions.
• Build prototypes for creative solutions and share candid, constructive feedback to improve the team.
• Raise the team’s quality bar through code reviews, documentation, and operational contributions.
• Simplify the domain by spotting patterns, building expertise, and questioning the status quo.

Required profile

• 5+ years building complex systems or working in regulated industries with a focus on scaling.
• Ability to work autonomously on team‑wide projects and manage multiple internal stakeholders.
• Track record of high‑quality, quick decision‑making and curiosity to debug complex problems.

What we offer

• Base salary ranging from $185,000 to $225,000 depending on location.
• Remote, hybrid, or office options in New York City or San Francisco.
