Senior Software Engineer

About the role

Makai Labs is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead backend development for its Makai Automation Platform. This fully remote, full‑time position focuses on building and scaling Python‑based services that power human‑machine teaming solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and ship new backend features using Flask.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and reliability.
• Validate technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and collaborate with frontend teams.
• Write clean, well‑documented, and maintainable code.
• Maintain and enhance existing applications, including performance testing and stability monitoring.

Required profile

• 7+ years of professional Python experience, with at least 4 years using Flask.
• Hands‑on experience with SQLAlchemy, Pydantic, and Docker.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and related design patterns.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a fully remote environment.
• Excellent English communication skills.
