Senior Software Engineer

About the role

The University of Miami’s UHealth department is seeking a senior‑level software engineer to design, develop, and maintain the LINCS Integrated Knowledge Environment and the Sylvester Data Portal – a cloud‑based biomedical data platform. The role is full‑time and based on the UHealth campus in Miami.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical design and implementation of web‑based platforms that federate large, diverse biomedical datasets.
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers, coordinating work across multiple sites.
• Develop, test, and release production‑grade code in collaboration with scientists, data engineers, and product managers.
• Define release calendars, prioritize new features, and resolve issues that affect delivery timelines.
• Act as product owner for software deliverables, ensuring alignment with precision‑medicine initiatives.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in full‑stack web development.
• Proven ability to work within interdisciplinary research teams.
• Strong leadership and project coordination skills.
• Experience building scalable, production‑ready applications for scientific data.
