Business Systems Analyst

About the role

The University of Miami’s Learning Platforms team is seeking a full‑time Business Systems Analyst to support and enhance a suite of academic technologies used for course design, media storage, communication, advising and assessment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed action plans with goals, timelines and approvals for system improvements.
• Maintain communication with staff, map current processes, and design optimized workflows.
• Prepare time and cost estimates, conduct best‑practice research and benchmark analyses.
• Apply process‑design and optimization techniques to improve learning platform performance.
• Collect and analyze data to measure baseline performance and post‑implementation impact.
• Prepare presentations summarising methodology, results, recommendations, and cost‑benefit analyses.
• Participate in ongoing quality‑improvement activities and adhere to university policies.

Required profile

• Experience supporting academic or enterprise learning platforms in a higher‑education environment.
• Ability to collaborate with help‑desk teams, system administrators and university stakeholders.
• Strong analytical mindset for process evaluation, cost estimation and reporting.

Required skills

• Familiarity with Canvas, Blackboard Learn Ultra, Kaltura, Respondus, Ally, EAB Navigate, Cognates Search Engine and Modo Labs.
