Senior Software Engineer

About the role

ETAP is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join its hybrid team in Irvine, CA. You will work on cutting‑edge electrical digital twin platforms, turning power‑system expertise into high‑performance simulation software used worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement algorithms for power‑system simulation and analysis.
• Integrate applications with databases and ensure data integrity.
• Perform code reviews, debug numerical algorithms, and maintain existing code bases.
• Develop data‑processing architectures using multi‑threading, parallel computing, and the C++ Standard Template Library (STL).
• Migrate legacy modules to future software architectures.
• Collaborate with management, other departments, and customers to gather requirements and define specifications.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems) or Computer Science with strong power‑system fundamentals.
• 5+ years of professional programming experience, preferably with a master’s degree.
• Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and able to work independently.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with engineers and developers.
