Senior Software Engineer – Command & Control

About the role

You will develop the backend Command & Control (C2) software that connects Quindar’s platform to satellite vehicles, enabling reliable communication with diverse spacecraft.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement machine‑to‑machine communication protocols, including binary serialization, framing, packetization and state management.
• Integrate new satellite vehicles by translating spacecraft‑specific interfaces into maintainable platform integrations.
• Build abstractions, tooling and architecture to support many different spacecraft without custom code for each.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of professional experience developing software for satellite command and control, telecommunications, networking, robotics, embedded systems or similar complex systems.
• Strong analytical, systems‑thinking and troubleshooting abilities; ability to work independently on ambiguous integration problems.

Required skills

• Proficiency in backend or systems programming languages such as Python and Rust.
• Experience with communication standards (CCSDS, CSP, CFDP, IP) and interface definitions (XTCE, MIB) – not mandatory but preferred.
• Knowledge of encryption algorithms (AES‑256 GCM, CFB, ECB) and familiarity with Kubernetes and DevSecOps practices.
• Hands‑on experience with Git/GitHub, relational or time‑series databases, and open‑source contributions.
