Senior Software Engineer – Cloud Native & Developer Experience

About the role

Mastercard’s Builders Enablement Program is building a standardized, secure, cloud‑first software delivery ecosystem. As a Senior Software Engineer you will design, develop and enhance cloud‑native applications and developer‑facing experiences that empower engineers across the ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and support scalable cloud‑native backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build modern user interfaces with React and TypeScript and create REST APIs for integration.
• Integrate developer tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, Bitbucket, SonarQube and Workday into the platform.
• Lead performance engineering, security compliance, testing strategies and incident resolution for distributed systems.

Required profile

• Strong expertise in software architecture, system design and distributed systems.
• Proficiency across both backend (Java, Spring) and frontend (React, TypeScript) development.
• Quality‑first mindset with emphasis on testing, security and performance.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex production issues and mentor other engineers.
