Senior Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

Mastercard’s Business Operations team is looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to ensure the reliability, scalability and performance of critical applications that power global payments. In this role you will act as the production‑readiness steward, driving automation, capacity planning and proactive monitoring across our platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Execute SRE projects and processes independently, resolving problems and roadblocks as they arise.
• Design and implement automation and scripting solutions to streamline operational workflows and incident response.
• Troubleshoot routine and complex system issues, escalating when necessary to maintain system health.
• Collaborate with development teams to embed reliability, scalability and security into new services.
• Produce documentation, share knowledge and contribute to best‑practice guidelines.

Required profile

• Proven ability to work autonomously on routine and moderately complex SRE tasks.
• Thought‑leader mindset with a passion for automation and mentoring peers.
• Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to risk management and compliance.

Required skills

• Programming/Scripting: Python, Go, Bash.
• Operating systems: Linux/Unix.
• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP.
• Observability and monitoring tools for metrics, logs and traces.
• DevOps practices: CI/CD pipelines, containerization and orchestration.
• Capacity planning, performance optimization and IT service management.
