Senior Project Engineer - Concentrator

About the role

South32 is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead the delivery of the Hermosa Concentrator project in Arizona. The role ensures that construction contractors execute work in line with the company’s engineering, safety, quality, environmental and community standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide oversight and assurance for construction of major process facilities and infrastructure, including the concentrator plant, roads, water and power systems, dams, treatment plants and support buildings.
• Coordinate with project, engineering and construction teams to plan, schedule and control costs.
• Monitor contractor performance on safety, quality, environmental compliance and schedule adherence.
• Identify and resolve technical issues during construction execution.
• Report progress and risks to senior project management.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior engineering roles on large‑scale mining or industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction execution, safety and quality management.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external contractors.
• Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.
