Senior Program Manager – Space & Defense

About the role

Moog’s Space and Defense Group is expanding and seeks a Senior Program Manager to lead complex aerospace and defense programs from contract award through final delivery. The position is based onsite in Elma, New York, and works closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure program success.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical programs from contract award to end‑item delivery, supporting sales and proposal activities.
• Manage large, cross‑functional teams across contracts, procurement, engineering, test, operations, and quality.
• Oversee tasks from engineering design and qualification through the full production lifecycle.
• Validate that program requirements are correctly interpreted and met throughout execution.
• Ensure program plans, schedules, and costs align with Moog and customer expectations.
• Prepare and present materials for internal and customer meetings.
• Monitor program costs and technical risks, reporting status at monthly Program Management Reviews.

Required profile

• BS degree in Engineering or Business.
• At least 5 years of program/project management experience in aerospace, defense, or highly engineered manufacturing.
• Proven track record managing complex production programs with responsibility for cost, schedule, and performance.
• Experience leading cross‑functional teams through full‑rate production.
• Ability to identify and resolve issues that impact program performance.
• Understanding of contractual requirements and scope adherence.
• Capability to operate under pressure while handling multiple priorities.
• Ability to access U.S. export‑controlled information; PMP certification preferred; security clearance highly preferred.
