Senior Product Manager - Platforms (ONTAP)

About the role

NetApp is hiring a Senior Product Manager in Boulder, Colorado to own strategy, roadmap and lifecycle for its ONTAP systems platforms, the unified data-management platforms at the core of its Enterprise Storage business. It is a strategic, cross-functional role covering platform strategy, competitive positioning, new product introduction (NPI) and business outcomes, with strong partnership with Engineering, Operations, product marketing and field sales.

Key responsibilities

• Own and refine the ONTAP systems platform strategy and build multi-generation roadmaps with Engineering and Operations, tracking adoption, capacity growth and $/GB economics
• Lead concurrent NPI programs and define product requirements, lifecycle discipline (EOA/EOL, sustaining) and portfolio positioning
• Gather requirements from customers, the field and partners, and define competitive positioning against enterprise storage vendors
• Partner with Product Marketing on messaging, packaging, configuration guidance and field enablement, and monitor adoption and quoting friction
• Serve as the main point of accountability for the platform across Engineering, Operations, supply chain, finance, marketing and field sales, and communicate strategy and tradeoffs to executive leadership

Required profile

• 8+ years of product management or technical product planning experience in enterprise infrastructure, storage or related hardware/software domains
• Proven experience leading complex NPI programs from concept through GA and sustaining
• Experience driving cross-functional execution with Engineering, Operations, supply chain, finance and go-to-market teams
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience preferred

Required skills

• Strong understanding of enterprise storage systems and architectures, including NAS and SAN protocols
• Preferred: familiarity with ONTAP or comparable unified storage data services, storage economics ($/GB), and competitive experience against major enterprise storage vendors
