Senior Product Manager - Payments

About the role

The Home Depot is hiring a Senior Product Manager for its payments product line. The role assesses market needs and leads cross-functional product teams to deliver business value that drives sales, improves efficiency and raises customer satisfaction. It works at both strategic and tactical levels, with developers, designers and business partners, and covers products that are higher-profile and larger in scope.

Key responsibilities

• Strategy and planning (about 50%): turn business goals and end-user needs into product strategy, set goals, metrics and analytics, manage and groom the product backlog, partner with Finance on business plans, and monitor research and the competitive landscape.
• Delivery and execution (about 20%): run user research and testing, document and review quality and change control standards, create, prioritize and accept user stories, take part in standups, iteration planning, demos and retrospectives, and explain technical concepts simply to stakeholders.
• People (about 30%): foster collaboration with Engineering and UX, advocate for the end user, guide junior team members, and help with talent acquisition, development and retention.

Required profile

• Age 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the United States.
• Preferred: 3-6 years of relevant experience, including as a Product Manager in a modern software development environment.
• Preferred: a bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
• Reports to the Product Management Manager or Sr. Manager; typically less than 10% overnight travel.

Required skills

• Modern software product management practices and agile methodologies, including XP principles such as paired programming, test-driven development and continuous deployment.
• Creating, prioritizing and accepting user stories.
• User research and testing, and competitive research and analysis.
• Communicating with and influencing functional and technical team members at all levels.
