Senior Product Manager, Applied AI – Financial Markets
lseg · New York City
Job description
About the role
LSEG is hiring a Senior Product Manager to lead applied AI products for its markets business. The role suits people who understand how humans and machines represent problems, form judgments under uncertainty and make decisions, and who have turned that understanding into products that ship, scale and sell. It is a manager-level position.
Key responsibilities
- Shape and drive strategy, roadmap and delivery for the AI product area, from user discovery through production launch and commercial outcomes.
- Understand how users reason and decide, and turn that into AI products that measurably improve their outcomes.
- Identify where modern AI genuinely outperforms conventional approaches in markets workflows, with evidence rather than enthusiasm.
- Form product hypotheses, prototype quickly and back the ones supported by data.
- Ship responsibly in a regulated environment: define evaluation standards, guardrails and auditability for financial markets.
- Stay close to the research frontier in AI and in the science of cognition and behavior, bringing new insights early.
Required profile
- 4-8 years building and shipping products, with 2+ years on AI/LLM-powered products in production, owning outcomes in a commercial setting.
- Genuine depth in how intelligent systems represent, learn and decide, from graduate study or research in ML, cognitive science, computational neuroscience, behavioral economics or HCI, or from publication-grade independent work.
- Current engagement with the field: reading papers, experimenting with new models and tools, and holding informed opinions.
- Evidence of unconventional thinking that worked, such as a result, product or prototype.
- Nice to have: an advanced degree or publications in ML, neuroscience or cognitive science; experience with financial data, analytics or other regulated/high-stakes domains; a portfolio of side projects or prototypes.
Required skills
- Fluency in modern AI building blocks: LLMs, RAG, agents and evaluations.
- Hands-on instinct to prototype own ideas.
- Financial markets knowledge is a plus, not a prerequisite.
What we offer
- Anticipated base salary of $126,900 - $211,500, varying by location, city and state.
- Eligibility for the Annual Incentive Plan (bonus plan).
- Benefits program including wellness allowance, paid time off, medical, dental, vision, flex spending and health savings options, prescription drug plan, 401(k) with company match, life insurance, disability benefits and more.
