Senior Process Engineer – Manufacturing

About the role

BASF SE is looking for a Senior Process Engineer to join the Engineering team in Chattanooga, TN. The role supports the Dispersions & Resins business across North America, ensuring reliable production of high‑quality resins, additives and polymer dispersions used in coatings, adhesives and other applications.

Key responsibilities

• Represent manufacturing on capital projects, lead commissioning and startup activities.
• Manage process optimisation, troubleshooting, data analysis and provide technical support to operations.
• Lead new product scale‑up, recipe development, trial oversight and commercialisation.
• Conduct risk assessments, Management of Change reviews and ensure safety compliance.
• Identify and drive continuous‑improvement projects to reduce waste and variation.
• Execute Process Hazard Analyses (PHA) and support BASF’s Process Safety Management program.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• At least 6 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience implementing process modifications to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Experience coordinating root‑cause analyses and facilitating cross‑functional teams.
