Senior Process Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced chemical engineer to lead process development for downstream separation and purification of target molecules, reporting to the VP of Process Design & Operations.

Key responsibilities

• Design and conduct bench and pilot‑scale trials for downstream processing, including separation, purification, and waste management.
• Advance technology readiness to pre‑commercial demonstration (TRL 7) through scale‑up experiments.
• Analyze trial data to drive process intensification and build techno‑economic models for plant design.
• Provide hands‑on expertise in filtration, ion exchange, and distillation unit operations.
• Collaborate with R&D teams to integrate upstream and downstream streams for sustainable performance.
• Serve as primary technical contact for external labs, pilots, and CRO partners, managing data transfer and documentation.
• Prepare technical data packages to support creation of PFDs, P&IDs, and FEL packages.
• Identify vendors and oversee design, procurement, and commissioning of downstream equipment.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in Chemical or Process Engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Hands‑on DSP engineering experience and strong chemical/biochemical fundamentals.
• Proven track record advancing technologies from bench/pilot to TRL 7.
• Experience scaling processes, risk mitigation, and equipment translation.
• Strong communication, organizational, and fast‑paced work abilities.
