Senior Policy Fellow

About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis is hiring a limited‑term, full‑time Senior Policy Fellow to join its Center for Indian Country Development (CICD). The role is based on‑site either at the Minneapolis headquarters or the Helena, Montana branch and focuses on research and policy work that advances economic self‑determination for Native nations.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of researchers, data scientists, and engagement specialists to conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses of tribal economies.
• Identify, develop, and promote public‑policy solutions that address challenges facing Indian Country.
• Brief policymakers, prepare fact sheets, and provide technical assistance to external partners.
• Produce written memos, reports, and analyses for publication on the Bank’s website and other platforms.
• Present findings to internal and external stakeholders and translate research into accessible talking points.
• Plan, coordinate, and facilitate meetings, workshops, conferences, and seminars.
• Manage projects with clear goals, timelines, and success metrics, maintaining effective relationships with both internal peers and external constituents.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with at least four years of relevant professional experience.
• Demonstrated experience working on Indian Country‑related issues.
• Strong ability to lead thought‑provoking policy discussions within a multidisciplinary team.
• Proven capacity to handle multiple concurrent projects, shifting priorities, and tight deadlines.
• High attention to detail and commitment to delivering high‑quality work with minimal supervision.
