Senior Patient Services Representative

About the role

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas is hiring a Senior Patient Services Representative. The role promotes the center as a destination for excellent patient care, outcomes, safety and service, and involves supervising and training Patient Services Representatives at the assigned site while also serving patients and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• In coordination with the Training Supervisor, train Patient Services Representatives and handle site-specific training duties.
• When the Lead Patient Services Representative is absent, plan, monitor and direct Patient Services Representatives at the assigned site, assign tasks and review the accuracy of work completed.
• Work with the Training Supervisor to meet training needs and solve problems individually or in groups.
• Build strong working relationships with Patient Service Representatives and coordinate with other Senior Patient Representatives to keep training practices and policy enforcement consistent across locations.
• Greet patients, families and guests in lobbies and patient care areas, escort them and assist with wheelchairs and gurneys, and respect patients who are emotionally ill.
• Answer questions in person and by phone about health care services, give directions to facilities and services, and arrange requested services with other departments.
• Keep up to date on campus information to answer calls and requests accurately.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1 year of customer service experience.
• CPR certification obtained within 90 days of employment and kept current during employment.
• Preferred: 6 months of experience as a Patient Services Representative.
