Senior Mobile Software Engineer – Global E‑commerce Core

About the role

Join ByteDance’s Global E‑commerce team to shape the next‑generation Product Details Page (PDP). As a senior mobile engineer you will deliver high‑traffic, consumer‑facing features that blend shopping with social experiences, working across Android and iOS platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimise native features for the PDP using Kotlin, Objective‑C, and Swift.
• Develop cross‑platform business features with React in a rapid‑iteration environment.
• Create modular, resilient components that support regional variations, A/B testing, and feature flags.
• Improve cold‑start time, rendering performance, and network efficiency; own KPIs such as time‑to‑interact and crash‑free sessions.
• Implement reusable native frameworks to enable fast iteration without client releases.
• Collaborate with product, design, QA, data, and backend teams to translate requirements into maintainable code.
• Champion code quality through reviews, unit/integration/snapshot testing, and observability tooling.
• Drive technical direction toward a modular, server‑driven UI architecture and mentor junior engineers.

Required profile

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of native Android/iOS development experience.
• 2+ years of full‑stack development experience.
• Proven track record delivering high‑traffic, consumer‑facing mobile apps.
• Strong problem‑solving, debugging, and communication skills.
