Senior Manager, Youth Grants & Educator Engagement

About the role

The Senior Manager, Youth Grants & Educator Engagement oversees two initiatives within the Youth Leadership portfolio: the Active Minds Youth Mental Health Innovation Fund, a national microgrant program for youth-designed mental health projects, and Youth Champions, the engagement strategy for adult stakeholders such as educators, counselors and caregivers. Reporting to the Senior Director, Youth Leadership, the role manages program operations, partnerships, impact metrics and grant resources, and directly supervises the Manager, Middle School Engagement. The position is full time, exempt FLSA, and listed as flexible location.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the annual planning, launch and distribution of the Innovation Fund, awarding microgrants to youth-designed mental health projects
• Set eligibility, selection and equity criteria that center BIPOC and LGBTQ+ youth and historically under-resourced communities
• Run virtual and in-person Youth Champion workshops and connection sessions, and track youth mobilized through the programs
• Maintain project milestones, partner interactions, grant awards and participant data in Salesforce and ClickUp
• Partner with schools and districts, Chapters and Community Programs, and the Development and Marketing teams on school partnerships, outreach campaigns and newsletters
• Manage Innovation Fund disbursements and budgets, and contribute to annual budget planning
• Build and run mentorship, coaching and technical assistance for grantees, and professional development for Youth Champions
• Grow networks of Youth Champions and parent/caregiver allies, and connect grantees to related leadership opportunities
• Engage BIPOC and LGBTQ+ youth in shaping the Innovation Fund, and work with the Measurement Team on KPIs, participation baselines and equity tracking
• Supervise the Manager, Middle School Engagement and interns, and grow the number of sites using the Middle and High School Mental Health Curriculum
