Associate Director, Market Access Training

About the role

Ardelyx, a commercial-stage biopharmaceutical company, is hiring an Associate Director, Market Access Training in the United States. The role leads training for new hire onboarding and ongoing capability building across market access and patient services, with a primary focus on Field Reimbursement teams. It also supports training for other access-related functions and acts as a subject matter expert in reimbursement and patient access.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deliver onboarding programs for new hires, primarily for the Field Reimbursement team, and act as a technical training expert on access concepts for other functions including field sales
• Create and maintain an ongoing training curriculum, monitoring market access trends and updating modules as needed
• Facilitate live, virtual and on-demand training sessions using adult learning principles, including advanced training for Field Reimbursement teams
• Deliver training on payer policies, coverage requirements, prior authorization, denial management and patient services topics
• Visit Field Reimbursement Managers and Zone Access Managers in the field and virtually to observe interactions with healthcare providers, then partner with field leadership to turn observations into training improvements
• Work with external vendors and internal stakeholders on eLearning, job aids and workshops, and lead quarterly educational sessions with internal and external experts
• Assess training effectiveness continuously, introducing approaches such as microlearning, case studies and simulations
• Maintain expertise in Medicare, Medicaid and commercial payer policies, CPT, ICD-10 and HCPCS coding, prior authorization documentation and patient support programs, and translate this into practical training

Required profile

• BA or BS degree, advanced degree preferred; 8-10 years of business experience, preferably in pharma or biotech, or equivalent
• Demonstrated experience designing, developing and facilitating training programs
• Direct experience as a Field Reimbursement Manager or Access Reimbursement Manager, with knowledge of payer policies and patient access
• Experience with specialty products, including hub services, pharmacy benefit models or specialty pharmacies
• Ability to travel nationally about 40-50% of the time

Required skills

• Strong written and verbal communication, able to explain complex access topics clearly
• Project management, organizational and operational skills, including managing competing priorities, budgets and expenditures
• Ability to influence without direct authority and collaborate with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders

What we offer

• Anticipated annualized base pay of $195,000-$230,000, with possible annual bonus target and equity awards
